(Stillwater, Okla.) — An ex-convict from Cushing with an extensive criminal record was charged with indecent exposure in Cushing — just three weeks after he was released from prison where he served time for shoplifting in Tulsa County.
Jason Harvey Thompson, 31, who has more than a dozen prior felony convictions from Payne County, could be given a 10-year prison term if convicted of fondling himself in the back yard of a vacant house in the 700 block of E. Moses Street shortly before 11 p.m. on July 24.
A Cushing man reported that he was in his own back yard on his deck with his wife when he saw Thompson walk into a nearby back yard of a vacant house, pull down his pants and underwear, expose himself, lie down and fondle himself, an affidavit by Cushing Police Randy Evans alleged.
The Cushing man said “Thompson was unaware of the presence of him and his wife,” the affidavit alleged. The Cushing man said he had his wife call police while he watched Thompson to see where he went, the affidavit alleged.
“There was plenty of light to see what Thompson was doing,” the Cushing man allegedly told police, according to the affidavit.
The Cushing man placed Thompson under citizen’s arrest for outraging public decency and then turned him over to the police officer, the affidavit said.
Thompson’s criminal record includes two convictions for drug possession, two for second-degree burglary, one for false declaration of ownership in pawn and four for forgery, all occurring in 2002, state Department of Corrections records show.
Thompson also was convicted of second-degree burglary in 2004, larceny from the house in 2005, knowingly concealing stolen property, false declaration of ownership in pawn, and falsely personate another to create liability, all in 2006, DOC records show.
