(Cushing, Okla) – Officials from Cushing Public Schools and Lambert Construction Company braved sub-freezing weather and bitter wind chills to hold a brief groundbreaking ceremony for the new Cushing Middle School.
The new facility will be built on land southeast of the Cushing High School Campus, south of the Sports Complex on Harmony Road.
Cushing voters approved a bond issue of nearly 40 million dollars to pay for the new facility, the first new classroom space built in the Cushing Public School District since 1977.
C0nstruction is expected to take about a year and a half to complete.
