Rick Lee Butler Cushing, OK

Rick was born on July 20, 1953, to Ben and Margie Butler in Eufaula, Oklahoma.

He passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025, at his home in Stillwater, Oklahoma, surrounded by family.

After a fulfilling career, Rick retired from the City of Stillwater, where he worked as a Transportation Construction Inspector for over 23 years. Earlier in his life, he gained valuable experience at Mercury Marine and in concrete work. Rick will always be remembered for his generosity and willingness to help friends and family.

He cherished the moments spent hunting and fishing at his buddy David’s pond and relished his time on the golf course. His heart was especially full when he was with his family, particularly his little buddy Levi.

As one of 16 children, Rick experienced a lively childhood filled with camaraderie and playful mischief. He maintained a positive attitude throughout his life, sharing laughter with his sisters, especially during their road trips when he playfully offered driving advice.

He is survived by his brother Frankie Butler and sisters Missie and husband Ron Tuley, Belinda and husband Marty Fowler, and Becky Hale, along with his special nephew Levi Tuley. Additionally, he leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. Rick was preceded in death by his parents Ben and Margie, his brothers Benny, Donald, Charles, Billy, Rusty, and a baby brother, as well as his sisters Margie, Cathy, Joanie, Carolyn, and Robin.

He will be fondly missed by all his family and friends.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Crystal, Katie, Mary, and Luminos Hospice for their compassionate care.

The funeral service will be held under the direction of Palmer Marler Funeral Home. Join us on Friday, January 2, at 2:00 PM at Palmer Marler Chapel in Cushing, Oklahoma, with cousin Gary Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow at Tryon Cemetery.
