Jimmie Vern Anderson was born on July 21, 1932, in Cushing to Vernon Lee and Virgie Loretta (Wright) Anderson. He departed this life on March 12, 2026, at the age of 93 years.
Jimmie was a lifelong Cushing resident. He served in the United States Army. Jimmie was united in marriage to Thelma Bernice Simpson on September 5, 1953, and he devoted 72 years to loving and caring for Bernice. To this union three daughters, Sandy, Judy and Nina, were born.
Jimmie was a member of the Council Valley Baptist Church. He enjoyed collecting model cars, reading, football, baseball but most importantly spending time with his family, his wife, kids, grandkids and brother & sister-in-law, Fredona & George Alsip.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice, of the home; daughters, Sandy Robison and husband, Darrel, Judy Harmon and husband, Doug, and Nina Fowler and husband, Bret, all of Cushing; sisters, Joyce Wilson and husband, Joe, and Alice Jones and husband, Tom; brother, Tommy Anderson and wife, Wava; sister-in-law, Fredona Alsip; brother-in-law, Fred Dunlap; grandchildren, Clayton Robison and wife, Cara, Brandon Harmon and wife, Kylie, Amber Dearman and husband, Todd, Brooke Fowler and fiancé’ Jeff Elder and Brittany Fowler; great-grandchildren, Sadie Robison, Kale Robison, Elli Harmon, Trace Dearman, Cambria Dearman, Kenzington Dearman, Teague Dearman, Cash Martin, Stella Chaufty, Marek Starks and Maysen Starks; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Jimmie was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Elvira Simpson; brothers and sisters, Johnnie Anderson, Joan Dunlap, Betty Wickett, Bobbie Thompson, Donnie Anderson, Ronnie Anderson and Janie Anderson; brother’s-in-law, George Alsip, Lee Thompson, Eddie Simpson and Ralph Simpson; sister’s-in-law, Beulah Simpson and Judy Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, in the Council Valley Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
