Eulene Joan Hixson (Robison), a beloved lifelong resident of Yale, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2026, in Pawnee, Oklahoma. Born on December 7, 1930, to Mary Adeline and William (Bud) Shelby Dobson, Eulene’s life was marked by enduring love, dedication to family, and a deep connection to her community.
Eulene cherished the simple joys of life — her talents in cooking and feeding those she cared for were well known, as was her green thumb through gardening and canning. She was hardworking and devoted on the farm, finding comfort in the rhythms of rural living. Music held a special place in her heart, especially the sound of her husband Prince’s singing, whose presence was a source of great joy. Later in life, Eulene found her true soulmate in Prince Darling Hixson, with whom she shared many fond years. Her faith was important to her, and she was an active member of the Assembly of God Church.
Eulene was a proud mother of four children: Mary “Susie” Cude (husband Gary), Peggy Kathleen Newton (husband Skipper), Candy Lynn Overholt, and Robert Earl Morris (wife Paula). Among her closest family were her sister-in-law, Robbie Nell Oberbeck, and her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought light to her life.
She is survived by her daughters Peggy Kathleen Newton and Candy Lynn Overholt. Sister-in-law, Robbie Nell Oberbeck. She also leaves behind ten devoted grandchildren: Kevin Cude, Lisa Lewis (husband Troy), Kymberly Cude, Emily Morris, Brad Morris, Casey Munger (husband Ryan), Robbie Lynn Hawkins and (husband Kevin), Cody Lewis, Braden Morris, and Addie Morris. The family legacy continues with twelve great-grandchildren: Jennifer Cude, Matt Cude, Jacob Lewis, Samuel Spencer, Emma Wood, Sidney Hawkins, Kayla Hawkins, Gibson Munger, Haleigh Lann, Courtney Newton, Charlie Munger, and Graycee Newton. Two great-great-grandchildren, Weston Holmes and Mason Lann, also survive her.
Eulene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Prince Hixson, her parents Mary Adeline and William Dobson, her daughter Susie Cude, her son Robert Morris, her brother Harry Lee Oberbeck, and her grandson Bryan Newton. Their memories remain forever treasured in the hearts of her family.
The family will gather to honor Eulene’s life with visitation on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Lawson Cemetery in Yale, Oklahoma. Pastor Randell Newby will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Troy Lewis, Jacob Lewis, Braden Morris, Brad Morris, Kevin Cude, and Matt Cude. Honorary pallbearers will include Samuel Spencer, Phil Newton, and Don (Skipper) Newton.
Eulene Hixson’s life was a testament to the strength of family, the beauty of faith, and the warmth of a generous spirit. Her memory will endure in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
