Graveside services are scheduled for Zelma Derene Weaver, age 95, former resident of Ponca City, at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday April 15, 2014 at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery at Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma.    Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.  Zelma passed from this life on April 10, 2014 in the Drumright Nursing Home.

Zelma Glisson was born May 18, 1918 to Charlie H. Glisson and Beulah M. Hague in Olive, Oklahoma.  She received her education in Shamrock, Ok and Skellytowm, Texas.  Zelma was united in marriage to Buford L. Weaver on April 7, 1934 in Sayre, Oklahoma.  The couple made their home in Roxana, Texas before moving to Ponca City, Oklahoma in 1945 after Buford returned from the Navy.  In 2006 she and Buford moved to Cushing to be close to their daughter and her husband.  Zelma was a homemaker and drove a school bus for the Ponca City School District for 25 years and was a member of Community Christian Church since 1946.  She was also an active member of C.W.F. and drove for Meals on Wheels.  Zelma enjoyed her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great, great grandchild.  She and Buford loved traveling and saw much of the United States.  Zelma was loved by everyone who knew her and was an example of loving kindness as she always said thank you to anyone who did even the smallest deed for her.  Because of her and Buford’s kind generosity, their door was always open to help relatives in need.  They shared their love for one another in marriage for seventy years.

Zelma is survived by her daughter Thelma Lee and Bill Allton of Cushing, Oklahoma, granddaughter Stephanie and Randy Dominguez of Tulsa, granddaughter Laurie John of Depew, great-granddaughters Carissa Hinex and husband Paul, Tiffany Robison and husband Eric, grandsons Devon Dominguez, Wesley Dominguez, Karston Dominguez and Adrian Dominguez and sister Fredia Santaniello of Vineland, New Jersey, brother August Hague and wife Jenny of Pawhuska,, Ok., friend Rory Dominguez.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Buford, a grandson Kriston William Allton, and two sisters, Hazel Bowles and Mabel Augustine.
