The race is heating up for the next Payne County Commissioner with Republican candidate Zach Cavett and the current commissioner, Bill Deering, forcing voters to go to the polls on July 27 to decide which candidate will be running against Democrat Bobby Farley in November.

Zach Cavett’s background includes one of his highest priorities, his faith in Jesus Christ.  His family resides in Glencoe and claims the First Baptist Church in Glencoe, as their church family .  He has been married to Ashley for nine years and is the father of three beautiful children, Emily, Travis and Nicholas.

Zach has served the residents of Payne County for almost ten years by working for the county in nearly all aspects of maintenance: bridges, roads, equipment and as Shop Foreman.

Zach stays busy on his off hours, he owns and operates Zac’s Roofing.  He knows the ropes of caring for the county’s roadways and is a man of vision and energy, indeed.

Zach, now in his early 30’s, is young enough to be actively  involved and is committed to being compassionate about the concerns of what residents of Payne County need, should he be elected the next Payne County Commissioner.  Zach feels that by adjusting the budget priorities and resources he can envision better county roads and highways with the right-of-ways mowed and cleared of obstructing trees and brush, ditches being maintained for adequate drainage with road surfaces and bridges well maintained.

Zach welcomes any questions on current conditions of roads, bridges and county maintenance and will rely on residents and their ideas and thoughts combined with his visions for District 1, to solve the issues of Payne County for all those concerned and interested in making Payne County a better maintained district.
