(Cushing)- Cushing Public Schools and the Lachenmeyer Arts Center are combining efforts to celebrate and recognize our youth during Youth Arts Month.

Currently on exhibit at the Lachenmeyer Arts Center is the 19th Annual Youth Arts Show. The show will be on display March 3 – 14, 2008.

This year’s Youth Arts Show consists of artwork from Cushing High School students studying under M.J. Henderson-Smith, Cushing Middle School students studying with Betty Bowen and Sunnyside Elementary students from Nancy Knight & Cheri Powell’s Second Grade classes. The show also includes students taking art classes at the Lachenmeyer Arts Center with director Rob Smith.

The Thompson Foundation is sponsoring several

People’s Choice Award. The winner from the Cushing

High School category will receive a gift certificate of $50 to Hobby Lobby.

Winners from the Cushing Middle School category and the elementary school category will each receive a gift certificate for $25 to Hobby Lobby. Any one visiting the Youth Arts Show can vote for their favorite work of art.

The Lachenmeyer Arts Center is located in the
