William Dean Savory, Wellston resident, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014 in Stillwater at the age of 60 years.
The son of Marvin Savory and Maxine Creager Savory, William was born on October 7, 1953 in Ft. Sam Houston, Texas.
He was united in marriage to Carolyn S. Butler on July 7, 1971 in Payne County. To this union four children, Nikki, Jennifer, Benjamin and Janelle, were born.
William was a member of the Church of Christ in Perkins. He enjoyed reading his Bible, hunting, being outdoors and watching old movies with his grandchildren. He loved being with kids and people; always finding the good in everyone. He was an avid supporter of the Christian Broadcasting Network, Voice of the Martyrs and Orphan’s Promise.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Carolyn, of the home; his father, Marvin Savory and his wife, Audry, of Shawnee; his mother, Maxine Savory of Tryon; three children, Nikki Kretchmar and her husband, Mark, of Perkins, Benjamin Savory and his wife, Monica, of Perkins and Janelle Hixon and her husband, Curtis, of Crescent; eight grandchildren, Jesica Black and her husband, Trent, Tyrel Mims, Caleb White, A’mya Mims, Bailey White, Kelsey White, Karstyn Savory and Landry Savory; brother, Wayne Savory and his wife, Nancy, of Blair; sister, Connie Moser and her husband, Mike, of Tryon and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. William was very proud to be expecting his first great-grandchild in November.
William was preceded in death by one daughter, Jennifer Savory.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. in the Church of Christ in Perkins with Reverend Richard Poe officiating.
Burial will follow in the Olivet Cemetery, Perkins.
