William “Bill” Dennis, a longtime Cushing resident, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2014 at the Stillwater Medical Center, Stillwater, Oklahoma at the age of 91.

Private services will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Ok.

Bill was born on September 14, 1922 in Ripley, Oklahoma to the late Jake and Lillian (Kaufman) Dennis.  Bill grew up and attended school at Free Silver.  He married the love of his life Rose Marie Todd on December 24, 1947 in Cushing.  They made their home in Cushing where he worked for Hughes Concrete later Holderread Concrete, hauling mixed concrete to most everyone around the area for almost a quarter century before going to work for the City of Cushing as a truck driver until retiring April 24, 1985.  He enjoyed being outdoors and taking care of his garden and caring for the land on the acreage he loved so much.  Bill loved spending time with family, especially his great-grandchildren.

Bill is survived by his wife of 67 years Rose Marie Dennis of the home, sons Raymond Eugene Dennis and wife Linda of Cushing and Tommy Lee Dennis and wife Carol of Cushing, brother Wayne Dennis and wife Arzella of Ripley, sister Morene Williams of Cushing, brother-in-law Don Dooley of Cushing, grandchildren Austin Dennis, Rhiannon Dennis, Kristin Dennis Beitz and husband Mark, great-grandchildren Sheridan, Zaya, Kaylin and Jensen, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Wilma Dennis Dooley and Irene Dennis King, brothers-in-law Harold King and Louis Williams.
