(Cushing, Okla.) A fatality collision occurred in Lincoln County yesterday afternoon, September 15th (2015) at 3:39 (pm) on SH66 at the junction of SH66 B, Wellston.
Hillary Atwood (24) of Wellston was driving a 2005 Kia westbound on SH66 nearing the junction of SH66 and SH66 B, when Ruby Kincaid (84) of Wellston, driving a 2007 Mercury, was westbound, also on SH66 B. Kincaid attempted to make a left turn into a private drive, by pulling onto SH66 and pulled in front of the KIA. The KIA struck the Mercury’s drivers side, and both units came to rest in the roadway.
Atwood was injured but refused treatment at the scene and the two juvenile passengers in Atwood’s car, ages four years and a infant eight months, were both transported. The four year old by MediFlight to OU Children’s Hospital, and the eight month old by a private vehicle to a personal physician. Kincaid, who was transported by Chandler Fire and Ambulance to a hospital later expired (09/16/15).
DPS reports show that the collision was caused due to an unsafe turn into a private drive and that seat-belts were in use in both vehicles.
