Vivian L. Floyd passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2012 in the Linwood Village Nursing Home at the age of 90 years.

    The daughter of the late Samuel Burdick and Sylvia Flager Burdick, Vivian was born on January 21, 1921 in Jennings, OK and was raised and educated in the Jennings area.

    Vivian was married to John W. Floyd on August 19, 1938 in Stillwater.  The couple had lived in several different cities prior to his death in 1998.  She had resided in the Linwood Village Nursing home for the past several years.

    Vivian was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mannford.  She enjoyed gardening, raising chickens, spending time with her family and was especially known for cooking her homemade apple pie and bread.

    Survivors include five children, Sam Floyd of Santee, CA, Darrell Floyd of Sapulpa, Tom Floyd of Tulsa, Sylvia Dewitt of Glencoe and Kathy Haskin of Cushing; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

    In addition to her parents and husband, Vivian was preceded in death by two sons, Paul Floyd and Gary Floyd; one daughter, Irma Yother; one brother, Bill Burdick and one sister, Juanita Pitzel.

    Funeral services will be held Monday, January 23, 2012 at 11 A.M. in the Church of God at Yale with Reverend James Beck of Mannford officiating.

    Burial will follow in the Bethel cemetery.

    The family will greet friends on Sunday, January 22, 2012 from 4-6 at the Davis Funeral Home.
