Virgil Boyles, lifelong Cushing resident, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 in the Linwood Village Nursing Home at the age of 95 years.
The son of the late Bill Boyles and Bessie McDaniels Boyles, Virgil was born on August 9, 1918 in Cushing, Oklahoma and was raised and educated in the Council Valley Community.
He was united in marriage to Virginia Williams on February 3, 1938 in Yale, Oklahoma and to this union three children, Bruce, Bill and Linda were born.
Virgil was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes at the Senior Citizen Center, and spending time with his family and fiends.
Surviving include two sons, Bruce Boyles and his wife Sue of Choctaw, Oklahoma and Bill Boyles and his wife Delores of Cleveland, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Debbie Gardner and her husband Jim, Diana Zeckser and her husband Mark, Chip Boyles, Krista Clark and her husband Lonnie and Keri McSorley; nine great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, Virgil was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 12, 2014, at 1:00 PM in the Memorial Chapel of the Davis Funeral home with Pastor James Coffelt of the First Free Will Baptist Church, Cushing officiating.
