The following accident is based on a preliminary report furnished by the DPS.
(Ada, Okla.) An injury collision occurred on March 27, 2019 at 9:18 pm on State Highway 3W approximately six miles west of Ada.
A 1993 Chevrolet pickup driven by James F. Dollison of Ada was disabled in the westbound lane of State Highway 3W. Dollison was standing outside of his vehicle attempting to make repairs when a 2010 Ford pickup driven by Darvin M. Hartzo of Perkins struck the rear of Dollison’s vehicle causing it to hit him. Dollison was thrown approximately 50 feet from the vehicle. He was transported by AirEvac to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where he was admitted in critical condition with head, trunk internal, trunk external, arm and leg injuries.
Hartzo was pinned for approximately 20 minutes and extricated by Ada Fire Department, then transported by Medi Flight to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, admitted in serious condition with head, trunk internal and trunk external injuries.
According the DPS report, the cause of the collision was improper parking on roadway.
