(Stillwater, Okla.) – A Tulsa pair were charged today in Payne County District Court with shoplifting two HP desktop computers from the Cushing Walmart on Nov. 2, 2017.
Gary Jason Ramey Jr., 36, an ex-convict who got out of prison three years ago, could receive as much as a life sentence if convicted of larceny of merchandise from a retailer after former felony convictions. Ramey has not yet appeared in Payne County on his charge, court records show.
His co-defendant, Emily Catherine Sparks, 37, who has also used the surname of Prentice, could receive as much as a five-year prison term if convicted of larceny of merchandise from a retailer. She remains in custody in Tulsa County on a charge of falsely personating another in Broken Arrow on Feb. 23.
Ramey, who has also been known as Gary D. Ramey, Laney Ramey, Gary Ramsey, Gary D. Raney and Gary J. Raney, was previously convicted of seven felonies in Tulsa County:
* falsely personating another in 2017 for which he was given a five-year suspended sentence except 120 days in jail on March 16, 2017;
* falsely personating another in 2016 for which he was given the same concurrent sentence on March 16, 2017;
* methamphetamine possession in 2016 for which he was given the same concurrent sentence on March 16, 2017;
* methamphetamine possession in 2013 for which he was given a four-year prison term followed by three years of probation in 2013, but only served one year;
* shoplifting in 2013 for which he was given a concurrent four-year prison term, but only served one year;
* shoplifting as a third or more offense in 2012 for which he was given a concurrent four-year prison term, but only served one year;
* shoplifting in 2012 for which he was given a concurrent four-year prison term, but only served one year.
