CHS seniors Acacia Hainsey and Brenna Winterbottom brought the school news to listeners on the Donna and Molly Show, Friday Oct. 23rd.

It was once again a delight getting to know a little bit about the students at CHS.  Acacia and Brenna were bright and charming and good representatives of their school.  Acacia is a senior at CHS and participates in soccer.  Brenna, a member of the cheer squad, FCCLA and numerous other activities and groups, was crowned Football Queen at Homecoming on Oct. 15th. 

This week’s news consisted of the following:

Last week CHS played Cleveland for Homecoming.  The Tigers won 28 -20.  Brenna Winterbottom and Brett Aicher were crowned King and Queen.

The band went to OSSAA regional competition and received a two, which is an excellent.  Color Guard also went and received a superior (1).  There were four soloists, from color guard, who placed.  Senior, Angelia Barrera receiveda one; junior, Kristi Bradley received a two; sophomore, Sarah Nishumuta was given a one, and Haely McAlister brought home at two.

CHS students are allowed to dress for Halloween, but all costumes MUST BE SCHOOL APPROPRIATE.

CHS Five Star Co-Op is selling hoodies now through Nov. 3rd.  The cost is $25.

Homeroom classes are competeing to see which one can raise the most money for FCCLA’s Trick or Treat so Other Can Eat campaign.  All proceeds will go to the Tri-County Church of Christ, Tuesday luncheon.

Oct. 1 – 11 was the Tulsa State Fair.  Cushing FFA sent Herbarium cards that consist of a leaf and all the descriptors of the plant the leaf belongs to.  Junior Heather Pearce, won first in her division of High School Junior Collection and then received overall REserve Grand Champion Collection.  Seniors, Ashleigh Pittser and Robbie Smith placed in the Senior division.  Pittser received third, whilte Smith placed second.  In the Freshman division, Emily Smith placd first.  Cushing FFA Communication students also submitted their photography at the Fair.  Each display was made up of a black board with four to five mounted photos.  Senior, DeShea Ladd placed eleventh on her board of mimages of pigs; sophomore, Brian Barton received tenth with his depiction of dogs; and sophomore Taylor German placed seventh on ther collage of cattle.

Cushing Drama Team is competing at State this week.  This is only th fourth time they have made it to state in the past 15 years!!

All State Tryouts for Chorus will be Oct. 31st in Broken Arrow.  CHS hopes to send about 15 students.

Harmony Elementary School is currrently selling Cushing Tiger Cards.  The cost is $10 and all proceeds go to support their Relay for Life team.

Thanks again to our CHS students for coming out each week to inform our listeners of the goings on in the schools.  We should be proud of our students they are our future!
