(Cleveland) – Celestine Hatfield scored 19 points to lead the Cushing Lady Tigers to their fifth win of the season over Cleveland Monday Night. Cushing took the lead late in the fourth quarter and never trailed after that. The Lady Tigers were up 26-12 at halftime, and led 32-24 after three quarters. The final score was 41-33.
The Cushing boys came from 14 points down in the first half to beat Cleveland for a second time this season. After trailing by double digits on several occasions in the first half, Cushing cut the deficit to eight at halftime, and tied the score at 37 midway through the third period. At the end of three quarters Cushing led by two at 45-43, and the Tigers were able to hold on down the stretch to get a 7 point win, 65-58.
Both teams close out the regular season at Perkins Tuesday night, before beginning the playoffs at Blackwell on Friday.
