(Perkins)- The Cushing Tigers have advanced to the Area tournament next week in Stillwater and have ended the seasons of both Berryhill and Glenpool in a span of less than 24 hours. Cushing got a consolation finals win Saturday afternoon that saw them take an early lead over the Warriors, then maintain it the entire game. Casey Youngman was hot early for the Tigers, who led 13-9 at the end of the first quarter. Cushing was able to maintain a small lead, but still only led by four at halftime, 27-23.

Glenpool was able to hang in through three quarters, but still trailed by three and the end of the third quarter, and would get no closer as the Tigers pulled away down the stretch and won 65-52. Philip Wilson led Cushing with 24 points, Youngman finished wtih 21.

Cushing advances to a Thursday night game in Stillwater against Inola, which suffered a one point loss to undefeated Vinita 48-47.

Cushing goes into the game with a record of 21-5, while Inola falls to 18-6.
