(Nashville, Tennessee)   The Oak Ridge Boys are set to unveil a caricature of legendary country music manager and impresario, Jim Halsey, at the The Palm restaurant in Nashville, Friday, September 14 at 1:30 pm CT. The Country Music Hall of Famers and Grand Ole Opry members are one of many legendary artists that Halsey is responsible for guiding the careers of, over the course of his storied 69-year career in music.

“I am both humbled and honored to have my caricature likeness added to the wall of the world-famous Palm restaurant in downtown Nashville,” Halsey said. “I owe a great deal of my career successes to the many wonderful friends, colleagues and artists that I’ve been blessed to work alongside of. Without them, none of this would be possible.”

Jim Halsey has been a pioneer of country music innovation and expansion, transforming a once colloquial commodity into a global force. Halsey played a key role in the direction and management of country music giants. He has guided the careers of some of the most iconic figures in country music, including Roy Clark, Lee Greenwood, Dwight Yoakam, Waylon Jennings, The Judds, Hank Thompson, Merle Haggard, Reba McEntire, Wanda Jackson, Freddy Fender, Roy Orbison, Tammy Wynette, Rick Nelson, Clint Black, Minnie Pearl, James Brown and The Oak Ridge Boys, who he’s managed for over 40 years.

Halsey’s vision, marketing, and passion was fundamental to the rapid growth of a genre that may otherwise have taken many more years to develop. His leadership and vision resulted in The Jim Halsey Company becoming the biggest Country music agency in the world. Halsey’s artists have sold hundreds of gold and platinum records, received countless awards, including Grammy awards and nominations, and sold out shows at The Grand Ole Opry, Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall and helped to expand Country music on a global basis, headlining festivals and performances all over the world. In 1976, Halsey took Country music artists Roy Clark and the Oak Ridge Boys on the first-ever tour of the U.S.S.R.

Over the course of his career Halsey has represented 29 of the 133 inductees into the Country Music Hall of Fame, as well as 10 members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and has played a pivotal role in bringing country music to television. To date, he is the only producer or manager who ever represented every guest on a single episode of the Hollywood Squares, as well as booked his acts in every Las Vegas showroom for an entire week.

Event coincides with Halsey’s Oklahoma panel presentation during AMERICANAFEST 2018
