(Stillwater, Okla.) — A Stillwater teenager has been ordered to appear in court Friday on charges of having sexual relations with a 14-year-old girl in Perkins and making a lewd proposal to do so.
Johnathan Lee Weems, 18, who remains jailed on $20,000 bail, could be given as much as a 35-year prison term if convicted of second-degree rape and indecent acts to a child under 16.
Perkins Police Investigator Charles Danker, who is also the school resource officer, was asked by a high school counselor on Sept. 3 to speak to two girls in her office, according to his affidavit.
One of the girls said that she was at McDonald’s on Highway 33 in Perkins when Weems and a 14-year-old girl “showed up and tried to pressure her into having sex with them,” the affidavit alleged.
The girl said that when she refused to have sex, Weems “touched her downwards, pinched her neck and unhooked her bra,” the affidavit alleged.
She said that “John told her she either go with them or he would chase her to the girls’ bathroom and rape her,” the affidavit alleged.
When the officer talked to the 14-year-old girl, she gave a similar report, the affidavit alleged.
Later the officer was called back to the high school to again speak to the 14-year-old girl, who said she didn’t tell the entire truth the first time because she was scared, the affidavit said.
The 14-year-old girl said that Weems “wanted to have a threesome,” but the other girl didn’t want to, the affidavit alleged.
When she was interviewed at the Saville Center in Stillwater, the 14-year-old girl “gave a complete disclosure that John and she had sexual intercourse,” the affidavit alleged.
The following day, when Weems was interviewed at Perkins-Tryon High School, he denied “proposing a threesome and threatening to rape,” the other 14-year-old girl, the affidavit said.
“I informed John that I had collected evidence and requested consent to take a DNA sample,” which he agreed to, the investigator wrote in his affidavit.
Weems then said the 14-year-old girl, with whom he admitted having sex, told him she was 16, the affidavit alleged.
The investigator told Weems that he had video from McDonald’s that showed the other 14-year-old girl ran to the bathroom to fix her bra, the affidavit said.
“I asked if it was just a joke and John stated he might have undone (her) bra when he hugged her,” the investigator wrote in his affidavit.
“John stated he messes around with people like that,” the affidavit alleged.
“John stated that the only thing he did (was) he hugged her and might have messed around undoing her bra,” but denied touching the girl inappropriately in her private area even on top of clothes, the affidavit alleged.
When the investigator asked him if he ever asked the girl to have sex with him, “he stated no; he doesn’t like (the girl) like that,” the affidavit said.
Weems said that he and the other 14-year-old girl only had sex one time, the affidavit alleged.
