(Stillwater, Okla.) — A Tahlequah woman was arraigned from the Payne County Jail Friday on charges of bringing a package of box blades, packages containing cellular telephones and plastic bags containing a large amount of tobacco, all described as contraband, onto the grounds of the Cimarron Correctional Facility in Cushing.

Regina Ann Ballard, 34, who remains held on $30,000 bail, was given a court-appointed attorney Friday to represent her on the three-count prison contraband charge, court records showed today.

If convicted of bringing the items onto the Cushing prison grounds on Feb. 18, Ballard could be incarcerated for eight years and fined $4,000, according to the charges filed Friday by Payne County Assistant District Attorney Tyson Branyan.
