Commissioners Evert Rossiter and Joe Manning – Seat 1 and Seat 2 respectively – were sworn in by assistant City Judge, Wade Shaw Monday morning during a brief ceremony at City Hall.
This is the second term for Rossiter who beat out his
two opponents during the last election. Manning, who has served on the board before – including the mayoral position – was appointed in 2007 after a board member was unable to fulfill his duties. Manning had no opponents last election.
“Congratulations,” Mayor John Henckel said – shaking their hands.
Once the swearing- in formalities were out of the way, commissioners Rossiter, Manning, Hogrefe and Henckel (Tommy Johnson was unable to attend) immediately got down to business – City business – the election of officers of the board.
At the annual organizational meeting, Henckel was once again elected Chairman of the Board with Manning remaining in the position of Vice-Chairman. Officers remained the same for the Cushing Municipal Authority, Cushing Hospital Authority and the Cushing Industrial Authority.
The annual organizational meeting is held each year on the first Monday of May.
