(Stillwater, Okla.) — A Stillwater woman has admitted obtaining $13,077 in food stamps by failing to report her employment income during a 26-month period, court records show.
Stacy Lanette Dale, 38, also known as Stacey Cantley, had been arrested on Oct. 27, 2020, and released on $5,000 bail, court records show.
Dale was ordered by District Judge Phillip Corley in July to pay $13,077 restitution at $160 per month beginning in August, with a disqualification from the food stamp program while she remains on a seven-year deferred sentence.
Dale “failed to report her income from Stillwater Group Homes,” to the state Department of Human Services, which administers the food stamp program, now called Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), for the United States Department of Agriculture, an affidavit said.
Pay stub records “showed that Stillwater Group Homes paid Stacy Dale biweekly wages during the period of 6/8/2017 through 8/29/2019,” according to an affidavit by DHS Agent Brandon Hagain.
“The transaction report indicated the overwhelming majority of the benefits were spent in Stillwater,” the affidavit said.
“Stacy Dale had been issued $13,077 in SNAP assistance she was not eligible to receive for the period from June 2017 through August 2019, the affidavit said.
