(Stillwater, Okla.) — A Stillwater man with an extensive criminal record has been given a 15-year prison term for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and attempting to elude a Stillwater police officer, along with a concurrent 10-year prison term for being a felon in possession of a handgun, as part of a plea bargain.

Anthony Dale Straughn Jr., 30, told Associate District Judge Stephen Kistler in court last week that he wanted to be immediately transported to prison to begin serving his sentences.

Straughn, who was already on probation for a raft of felonies, pleaded guilty Friday to having methamphetamine, marijuana and a 9 mm High Point pistol when he attempted to elude a Stillwater police officer last October, court records show.

According to court records, at the time of his latest arrest seven months ago, Straughn was already on probation in Payne County for:

* assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in 2011;

* car theft and third-degree arson in 2010;

* shoplifting and concealing stolen property in 2010;

* possession of the drug oxycodine in 2009;

* possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute in 2009;

* possession of methamphetamine in 2009:

* attempting to elude in 2009.
