(Stillwater, Okla.) — A Stillwater man, who allegedly broke into a neighbor’s house while intoxicated, has been ordered to appear in court this week on a first-degree burglary charge.

The arraignment for Cash Cooper Young, 21, was delayed from Oct. 6 due to his being quarantined for possible symptoms of Covid-19, court records show.

A neighbor of Young said “he was in his bedroom when he heard someone banging on his front door. He walked to the glass door and saw Cash standing there telling him to let him in,” a police affidavit alleged.

The neighbor “told him that he didn’t live there and then returned to his room. Shortly after, Cash began hitting (the neighbor’s) bedroom window,” the affidavit alleged.

“Cash forced his way into the residence causing significant damage to the door frame. Cash then walked to (the neighbor’s) room, picked up a boot, struck (the neighbor) in the face once causing the small laceration, and then began punching him” before leaving, the affidavit alleged.

The neighbor, who called police at 2:48 am on Oct. 4, “positively identified Cash as the one who broke into this house and assaulted him,” the affidavit alleged.

“Cash Young had glassy bloodshot eyes, thick slurred speech, was unsteady on his feet, and had a strong odor of intoxicating beverage” when he was arrested 14 minutes later by Stlllwater Police Officer Tanner Galbiso, the affidavit alleged.

“Once at the jail, I observed a bar stamp on his right hand. I then checked his wallet and observed a false Ohio driver’s license with a picture of a male that looked similar to Cash,” the officer alleged in his affidavit.
