(Stillwater, Okla.) — A Stillwater man, who babysat his neighbor’s 8-year-old son, has admitted coming into his neighbor’s bathroom and rubbing her thighs while she was taking a bath.
Myron Mark Henness, 55, who has been in custody since his arrest about 2 a.m. on Dec. 3, 2017, by Stillwater Police Officer Josh Carson, was found mentally competent last week to enter a guilty plea to sexual battery, court records show.
In July, District Judge Phillip Corley had ruled that Henness was not then competent and ordered him transported to a mental facility in Vinita to remain until his competency was restored, court records show.
After being found mentally competent Friday, Henness was ordered by the judge to register as a sex offender, provide a DNA sample and serve nine years of probation after completing a one-year jail term, most of which he has already served, court records show.
The neighbor “told me she provided Myron a key to her apartment so he could let her son in and out of their apartment while she is away,” at work, the Stillwater police officer wrote in an affidavit.
She said “her son was at a friend’s house spending the night and Myron was aware she was home alone,” the affidavit said.
She said “she has been working long hours, so when she got home she went into the bathroom to soak in her bathtub,” the affidavit said.
“She heard her front door open and Myron came into the bathroom and sat on the toilet next to her…she was startled and asked Myron to leave,” the woman told the officer, according to the affidavit.
She said “Myron picked up a bottle of body soap, put the soap on his hands, and began rubbing the inside of her thighs,” the affidavit said.
She said “she stood up from the tub and told Myron to leave,” the affidavit said.
She said “she isn’t very authoritative and was scared of Myron,” the affidavit said.
She said she “told Myron she had a male friend that was about to arrive to watch a movie with her,” and the defendant left, the affidavit said.
She said “she locked her door and secured the deadbolt,” but after falling asleep on the couch, she heard the front door open again at 10 p.m., the affidavit said.
She said “Myron walked into her apartment and walked directly into her bedroom…undressed down to his underwear and came into the living room and sat beside her,” the affidavit said.
She said “she got scared and sent a text to her neighbors asking them to call the police,” the affidavit said.
A short time later, one of her male neighbors arrived with his stepson; the men “made Myron leave the apartment,” and then stayed with her until the police officer arrived, the affidavit said.
