(Stillwater, Okla.) — A Stillwater man has been given a one-year jail term followed by nine years of probation with extensive conditions including registering as a sex offender for raping a 15-year-old girl, who was also choked.

Gregory Lee German, 21, pleaded guilty last week to second-degree rape as well as assault and battery of the girl whose underwear contained his DNA, according to a report from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.

“The victim and her mother were involved in the plea agreement,” prosecutor Debra Vincent advised Payne County District Judge Phillip Corley in court.

In accordance with the plea bargain, German was ordered to pay for a DNA sample along with $1,260 in other assessments and take a 52-week batterers’ treatment course on his release from the Payne County Jail where he has been held since early November.

An arrest warrant was issued for German four months ago after Stillwater Police Detective Inspector Greg Miller was notified “OSBI had completed the comparison and analysis of the panties and the buccal swab kit from Gregory German,” an affidavit said.

The girl had been at a friend’s home when German, a relative of her friend, arrived on Jan. 9, 2018, the affidavit said.

“Gregory German was drinking several different alcoholic beverages and using other types of intoxicants while he was at the residence,” the affidavit said.

“Gregory German repeatedly sprayed an inhalant in (the victim’s) face in order to get her high,” the affidavit said. The victim “told him to stop, but he continued to spray the substance in her face,” the affidavit said.

When the victim went into an unoccupied bedroom, German and another male, who was intoxicated and vomiting, followed her, the affidavit said.

“Gregory German grabbed (the victim) by the throat, choked her and threw her to the floor. Gregory German continued to spray the inhalant into (the victim’s face) until she was extremely disoriented,” the affidavit said.

The victim remembered that German removed her shirt and pants, the affidavit said. The victim remembered that German sexually assaulted her, the affidavit said.

The next morning when the victim awoke, she “discovered bruising to her throat and thighs,” the affidavit said. The victim saw that her panties had semen stains in them, the affidavit said. That day, the victim spoke to her mother about it, the affidavit said.

When the detective inspector located German on May 16, 2018, he denied having intimate or sexual contact with the girl, but agreed to provide a DNA sample through the use of a buccal swab kit that was submitted with the girl’s underwear to the OSBI for comparison and analysis, the affidavit said.

As part of the plea bargain, German was given a concurrent 11-month jail term last week for violating his probation in a 2018 domestic assault and battery case involving a different victim.
