(Stillwater, Okla.) – A 30-year-old Stillwater man with a college degree has been ordered to pay $1,889 in restitution as a condition of a three-year deferred sentence for embezzling from Lowe’s in Stillwater while he was an employee, court records show.
Adam Jay Pope pleaded guilty last week to embezzling cash from Lowe’s on Oct. 10, Nov. 15, Nov 29, Dec. 1, Dec. 4, Dec. 5, Dec. 6, Dec. 15, Dec. 17, Dec. 20, Dec. 27, Dec. 28 and Dec. 30 in 2017, court records show.
As part of a plea bargain approved by Associate District Judge Stephen Kistler, Pope was also ordered to pay a $1,000 fine, along with $100 to the victims’ compensation fund, perform 100 hours of community service within 12 months, and show proof of employment or enroll in Work Force Oklahoma, court records show.
Since his sentence was deferred, Pope will not have a criminal record if he successfully completes the terms of his three years of probation.
