(Stillwater, Okla.) — A 32-year-old Stillwater man, who was described as very cooperative and not appearing to be under the influence of any intoxicating substance, has been charged with indecent exposure after he allegedly walked down West Sixth Avenue while completely naked.
Torry Evan Finley was ordered jailed on $5,000 bail pending a Dec. 2 court appearance at which he can seek a preliminary hearing on the felony charge punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine on conviction.
Finley was arrested at 9:58 pm on Nov. 11 about 18 minutes after Stillwater Police Officer Roland Gee was dispatched to a convenience store at 6th and Country Club “in reference to a completely nude white male walking southbound,” his affidavit alleged.
“While in route to the scene, I was informed by dispatch that a second caller had reported a completely nude white male was walking southbound from 6th and Charles St. and had crossed the highway,” the officer alleged in his affidavit.
After a few minutes of sitting stationary in his patrol car at the corner of Basin Ridge Street and 6th Avenue, the officer saw a naked male next to 6th Avenue walking toward a motel and then through the parking lot with his right hand in the air pointing toward the sky, the affidavit alleged.
“I ordered the male subject (later identified as Torry Finley) to get on the ground and put his hands behind his back. Finley complied, and I asked him what he was on. He stated he was on nothing and was not under the influence of anything.
“While I was placing hand restraints on him, I asked him why he had no clothes on, and all he told me was Jesus Christ was his Lord and Savior. Finley was very cooperative and did not appear to be under the influence of any intoxicating substance.
“After Finley was placed in my patrol vehicle, Sgt. Gripe opened the door and asked Finley if he wanted motel staff to get some clothes for him out of the room. Finley stated he would like his clothes. At the jail, Finley was still very cooperative and answered every question given to him by detention staff,” the officer alleged in his affidavit.
