(Stillwater, Okla.) — A Stillwater man has been accused of indecently exposing himself, sending a lewd video and sexually battering a woman, who told police that she knew him from attending a church in Stillwater.
Joshua Deloy Redd, 26, for whom an arrest warrant was issued Friday, could be incarcerated for as long as 21 years if apprehended and convicted of a three-count charge filed against him last week, court records show.
According to affidavits by Stillwater Police Detective Mary Kellison that were filed Friday, the alleged incidents had occurred in May of 2021.
The woman, who obtained an emergency protective order against Redd in August of 2021, had reported at the Stillwater Police Department on May 26, 2021, that she knew Redd from attending a church in Stillwater, an affidavit said.
She told Stillwater Police Sgt. Kurt Merrill “she had had past unwanted advances from Joshua (Redd) before the sexual battery that occurred on May 20, 2021,” the affidavit alleged.
She said, “Joshua came to her residence before she could tell him she didn’t feel comfortable being alone with him,” the affidavit alleged.
She said that he arrived at about 11 pm on May 20, 2021, at her apartment where she initially refused to let him inside, the affidavit alleged.
She said, “Joshua coerced his way into her apartment and stated he would set a ten-minute timer and leave after ten minutes,” but no timer was set, the affidavit alleged.
“After a few minutes, (she) asked Joshua to leave, but he refused,” and began to try to kiss her while she was pushing him away, the affidavit alleged.
She said, “Joshua held her shoulders and pushed her down onto the floor,” where he continued trying to kiss her and removed her clothing before carrying her to her bedroom, the affidavit alleged.
She said, “she tried to use her fist to grind it into his neck to get Joshua to release her,” but she was sexually battered, the affidavit alleged.
Four days earlier, she said she had been at his apartment with him, his male roommate and his roommate’s girlfriend, the affidavit alleged.
She said that after the other couple went to a bedroom, she was left alone with Redd, who “began making sexual advances toward her and trying to kiss her. (She said) “she repelled his advances and told Joshua to stop,” the affidavit alleged.
When his roommate’s girlfriend left the bedroom, “Joshua pulled away from her,” she told police, the affidavit alleged. Then when his roommate’s girlfriend returned to the bedroom, she said that she started to leave the apartment, the affidavit alleged.
“While outside the apartment in the area immediately outside the front door, (she) stated Joshua began trying to kiss her again, and she resisted,” the affidavit alleged.
She said, “Joshua pinned her against a wall,” and exposed himself to her, the affidavit alleged.
She said that she left and went to her apartment, where “a brief time later, Joshua arrived at her front door and knocked on the door. Joshua also texted (her), saying he was at her door and brought brownies for her,” the affidavit alleged.
She said that she “saw Joshua through the peephole in the door, but she did not answer the door,” but instead went into her bathroom and called a friend, the affidavit alleged.
“Later in the evening, (she) said she received a series of text messages from Joshua,” including one of him touching himself, the affidavit alleged.
