(Stillwater, Okla.) — A 35-year-old Stillwater man accused of sexually abusing a young female relative has been ordered to appear in court on Jan. 6 when he can seek a preliminary hearing on the felony charge punishable by up to life in prison on conviction.
Bryce Aaron Jech was arrested on Nov. 19 and freed on $50,000 bail that day, court records show.
Stillwater Police Officer Chance Whiteley had received an email on Oct. 30 from the state Department of Human Services “regarding a referral that had been made alleging past sexual abuse of a juvenile,” according to his affidavit.
During a forensic interview on Nov. 11, the juvenile disclosed that Jech “had sexually abused her during her 4th and 5th grade year,” the affidavit alleged.
“The abuse was discovered due to a note the juvenile had written to give to another adult, which explained that (Jech) was ‘doing bad things’ to her sexually,” the affidavit alleged.
