(Cushing) –  The Cushing Fire Department has received a report from the Oklahoma State Fire Marshals Office as well as the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner in relation to the fire at the Red Bar on December 8, 2009.  The cause of the fire is undetermined due to extensive damage to the structure both from the fire and recovery efforts.  The determination as to the death of Roy Dale Williams has been determined to be accidental due to smoke inhalation.

Fire Chief Brent Kerr said, “This has been a terrible event for the Williams family and the citizens of Cushing.  As a city, ouit thoughts and prayers are still with the Williams family as they continue to deal with this loss.

The blaze was reported in the early morning hours of December 8th, 2009 by Cushing Police Officer Brad Staggs. 

Williams maintained a small living quarters in the building.
