(Oklahoma City) – The Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed the identity of a Cushing man killed in an early morning fire on Tuesday.  

The victim has been identified as Dale Williams, 87.   Williams body was found in the charred remnants of his business, The Red Barn Western Wear store. 

The State Medical Examiner’s Office  confirmed Williams’ identity today but said it is awaiting toxicology reports before ruling on cause of death, said Cherokee Ballard, public information officer.

Heavy smoke was discovered coming from building at 2:41 AM Tuesday by Cushing Police Officer Brad Staggs who was on patrol.

Firefighters from Cushing and Drumright worked to put out the blaze.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is still investigating the cause of the fire.
