(Stillwater) — KUSH news has learned that the first degree murder trial for a 14 year old girl accused of stabbing a Cushing Woman will not start on Monday as scheduled, and that a plea bargain is likely.

Maria Lynn Wiley, 14 years old at the time of her arrest, is accused of killing Alecia Rena Dean, 23 of Cushing. Dean was found unconscious near her vehicle on May 19th, she had been stabbed numerous times. She was pronounced dead at Cushing Regional Hospital about two hours later. Wiley was apprehended by Cushing Police near the crime scene shortly after the incident, and was was charged the following Monday in Payne County District Court with first degree murder.

Wiley was initially charged as an adult, but a Payne County Judge later ruled that Wiley would be tried as a youthful offender.

Sources have told KUSH that prosecutors will drop the first degree murder charge, and refile the case as manslaughter in juvenile court, and that Wiley will enter a guilty plea to that charge on Tuesday.

Payne County 1st Assistant District Attorney Tom Lee was in Court Friday, and unable to return calls about the case.

KUSH will update this story as details become available.
