(Cushing, Okla.) The following information is a preliminary collision report furnished by the Department of Public Safety.
Collision occurred at 4:36 (pm) on June 28th (2015) on SH33 0.4 miles west of Range Road, which is 5 miles west of Perkins city limits in Payne County.
Keshon Jihad Coleman-Ector (18) of Stillwater was driving a 2010 Toyota Camry 4D that was eastbound on SH33, when he encountered Ty Michael Briggs (31) of Perkins who was driving a 2012 Dodge Ram pickup that was going westbound on SH33. . The Toyota was passing a vehicle uphill in a no passing zone and when it struck the oncoming Dodge Ram head on.
Keshon Jihad Coleman-Ector was transported by ambulance to Stillwater Medical Center in critical condition and then to OU Medical Center with head, arm, leg, and trunk internal injuries. Ty Michael Briggs was transported by AirEvac to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where he is reported to be in stable condition with leg and trunk internal injuries. Ashley Ann Briggs (30) of Perkins was transported by ambulance to Stillwater Medical Center where she is reported to be in good condition with a trunk internal injury.
The three juvenile children in the Briggs car were transported to two different area hospitals where they are reported to be in good condition with a trunk internal injury.
Coleman-Ector was pinned for about 45 minutes prior to be freed by using hydraulic tools.
The DPS report shows the cause of the collision to be left of center in a marked zone.
