(Cushing, Okla.) –Session four of the Payne County Leadership Connections class got underway yesterday with students and instructor Suzette Barta meeting up for lunch at the Town Hall in Glencoe (Oklahoma) where the group dined on pizza prior to the class meeting getting underway.
The first part of session four began with Community Leaders Roundtable. This is where leaders in Glencoe talked with groups from the Payne County Leadership Class 5 about Glencoe and their positions. Community Leaders that were on hand yesterday to talk to the class were: Tracy King (Founders Day Committee), Mark Porter (Town of Glencoe and Water Director), Chad Speer (High School Principal) and Tammy Lane (Elementary Principal), Jeff Kuhn (Payne County Emergency Management Director).
The class then heard a history lesson on Payne County by David Sasser, which was followed by a scavenger hunt in Glencoe with six different clues given to each group. The group was then supposed to find the answer to each clue and report back to the Town Hall in Glencoe by 4:15 (pm) .
The class finished up with a gift wrapping party for the family that was adopted by Payne County Leadership (Class 5) this year.
