Seasonal flu vaccine is again available at the Payne County Health Departments in Stillwater and Cushing. Those who want to reduce their risk of seasonal influenza as well as H1N1 infection can now receive both vaccines during the health department’s flu clinics.

“We are pleased that we received another shipment of seasonal flu vaccine to offer to the citizens of Payne County,” said Annette O’Connor, Payne County Health Department Administrative Director. “Those who have been inquiring about when they can receive this vaccine are encouraged to get it at their first opportunity because our supply is limited.”

H1N1 vaccine is also available and those who want to receive it are encouraged to check with their physician’s office or come to the health department.

“In addition to our health departments, numerous private health providers now have a stock of H1N1 vaccine and can provide immunizations,” O’Connor continued. “We encourage patients to check with their physicians to see if they are offering the vaccine.”

Special flu clinics are being offered at both PCHD locations each week. The Stillwater location, 1321 W. 7th, is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays and Fridays and Cushing, 1026 N. Linwood, is offering vaccinations 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Fridays. For patient convenience, these clinics are open through the lunch hour.
