Candidates for the Board of Education in eight Payne County school districts file Declarations of Candidacy beginning at 8 a.m. Monday December 7th, 2009.

     Glenna Craig, Secretary of Elections for the Payne County Election Board, said the filing period ends at 5 p.m. Wednesday, December 9th.

     Candidates for the Board of Education in the Meridian Technology Center School District also file their Declarations during this filing period.

     The Board of Education positions filed will be filled at the Annual School Election scheduled for February 9, 2010.  If no candidate receives more than 50% of    the total votes cast in this election, the two candidates receiving the highest number of votes will meet in a run-off election on Tuesday, April 6, 2010.

     Offices for which Declarations of Candidacy will be accepted at the Payne County Election Board office include the following:

 

 Meridian Technology Center VT16-

Board District 2, which has a 5-year term of office.

 

Stillwater  Schools District I-16-

Board position 5, which has a 5-year term of office.

 

Perkins-Tryon School District I-56-

Board position 5, which has a 5-year term of office.

 

Glencoe School District I-101-

Board position 5, which has a 5-year term of office.

 Cushing School District I-67-

Board position 5, which has a 5-year term of office.

 Yale School District I-103-

Board position 5, which has a 5-year term of office.

 

Oak Grove School District C-104-

Board position 2, which has a 3-year term of office.

 

Ripley School District I-3-

Board position 5, which has a 5-year term of office.
