(Perry, Okla.) –According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol a early morning accident on Saturday, October 18 (2014) occurred at 3:07 (am). The accident happened on CR 175, 0.1 mile north of Deer Ridge, located 5.9 miles south and 6.5 miles east of Perry (city limits) in Noble County.
The 2005 Ford F250 Pickup being driven by Daniel Luke Morgan (20) of Stillwater was headed northbound on CR 175, when it departed the roadway going to the left and into the ditch. The vehicle rolled 1.5 times, prior to coming to rest on its top.
Morgan was transported by LifeNet to the Stillwater Municipal Airport where he was then transported on to OU Medical Center by EagleMed. Morgan is reported to be in stable condition with head, leg, and trunk internal injuries according to OHP reports. Morgan’s passenger Savannah Marie Piatt (18) of Phoenix, Arizona was pronounced dead on the scene due to a massive head injury. Piatt was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Oklahoma City.
According to OHP reports an odor of alcohol was present and the vehicle was traveling at a unsafe speed.
Seat-belts were in use.
