Samuel Linder, age 61, o f Cushing, died January 13, 2009 at the Herman Memorial Hospital in Houston, Texas. Mr. Linder was born on June 22, 1947 in McRae, Arkansas the son of Enoch and Lilly (Allen) Linder. He grew up in Arkansas. He married Sharon Phelps Linder in 1968 in North East, Arkansas. He worked as a mechanic and owned and operated L & M Auto Sales. He was a member of the Full Gospel Assembly of God Church in Cushing. He loved to hunt and fish and would build hot rods and taught his wife to drive his 55 Chevy dragster. He worked in Cushing as a police officer from 1968-1970 and served as a volunteer fire fighter. He also served as a police officer in McRae, Arkansas during 1974-1975. He moved back to Cushing in 1996.
Mr. Linder is survived by his wife Sharon Linder; a son, Jared Linder; daughter, Amanda Linder of Cushing, Okla., brothers, Chuck Linder of Fairfax and Leroy Bradshaw of Ada, Herman Linder and Jerry Linder; Sisters Marty Haub of Fairfax and Nora Linder ; step mother Willis Hood. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Royse Bradshaw.
His memorial service will be held at a later date and arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Cushing, Oklahoma.
