Ruth Annette Milliren of Raytown, Missouri, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Monday, May 19, 2008.

Mrs. Milliren was born March 23, 1924, in Bay Springs, Mississippi, to John and Lottie Hughes. In 1945, she married James L. Milliren and traveled extensively as an army wife to Japan, Alaska, Denver, CO, Germany, and Ft. Sill, OK., until Major Milliren’s retirement in 1965 and then they moved to Cushing, OK. in 1969.

Mrs. Milliren received her Masters Degree in Business Education in 1977 and then taught high school English and journalism in Cushing High School until her retirement in 1986. In 1992 she went to China to teach English; and then in 1994, she moved to Raytown, where she lived until her death.

All those who knew Ruth knew she loved the Lord and could not wait to join Him–along with her husband, who died in 1986, Debbie, a daughter, who died in 1957, her parents, and eight brothers and sisters. Mrs. Milliren is survived by three daughters,Jamie A. Johnson of Blue Springs, MO., Janet L. Bristow of Tulare, CA., and Susan C. Johnson of Warren, AR, four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service for Mrs. Milliren will be held at Eastside Baptist Church, 19901 78 Highway, Independence, MO 64057, at 7:00 P.M. Monday, May 26, 2008. She will rest beside her husband at Euchee Valley Cemetery, in Cushing, OK. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Parkinson’s Disease Society.
