(Stillwater, Okla.) — A 46-year-old rural Cushing woman has been jailed on $50,000 bail pending her arraignment March 19 on a Payne County charge of possessing marijuana with intent to distribute, a felony punishable by up to a seven-year prison term and a $100,000 fine.
Christie Dawn Story was arrested at 10:30 am on March 7 after Sac and Fox Nation Police served a search warrant at her residence in the 200 block of Greenwood Road in rural Payne County, court records show.
According to an affidavit by Lt. Raymond E. Smith III, an investigator for the Sac and Fox Nation Police Department, who is cross commissioned through Lincoln, Payne and Pottawatomie counties, he served a search warrant at Story’s residence on March 7, along with other tribal officers and Lincoln County investigators.
“I had previously served a signed and valid search warrant at the same residence on Feb. 21, 2024, and recovered marijuana, growing devices and a firearm,” the investigator alleged in his affidavit.
In the new case, “During the search, a large amount of green leafy substance was discovered in the attached garage and in the crawl space in the attic.
“Also discovered was a set of scales, numerous items used to consume marijuana, and a logbook of prices for narcotics,” the investigator alleged in his affidavit.
The total weight of the substance in numerous individual baggies, which field-tested positive for marijuana, was five pounds and 3.61 ounces, the affidavit alleged.
“I had Sgt. Traie Phillips and Officer Damon Bounds transport Ms. Story to Payne County Detention Center booking,” the Sac and Fox Nation Police investigator wrote in his affidavit filed in Payne County District Court records.
