Ruby Jean Ausbrook, longtime Yale resident, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at her residence at the age of 70 years.
The daughter of the late Rayford Chace and Katherine Grace Curtis Leonard, Ruby was born on October 31, 1941 in Morrison and was raised and educated in the Oilton area. She was Miss Princess of Oilton in 1957.
She was united in marriage to Jack Ausbrook on December 18, 1958 in Drumright and to this union two children, Vicki and Rick, were born.
Ruby was a member of the First Baptist Church in Yale. She enjoyed living on the farm, watching the birds sing, working in her yard with gardening and flowers; she loved going to Branson, sewing and spending time with her family and friends.
Ruby was very proud of the fact that in 1998 she was the named as the Adult Protective Services, Ombudsman Volunteer of the Year, volunteering for several years with this program. She also had learned sign language so that she could not only communicate with her grandson, but anyone that was deaf.
Survivors include her husband of over 53 years, Jack, of the home; two children, Vicki Potts and her husband Larry of Owasso and Rick Ausbrook and his wife Brenda of Sand Springs; four grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Tommy Chace of Bethany and Danny Chace and his wife Judy of Yale and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by one brother, Leroy Chace.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. in the Lawson Cemetery with Mike Dershem officiating.
