Rosalee C. King, age 89, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2010 at her home in Deer Park, Texas.  Funeral Services are under the direction of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing and will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2010 in the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bill Allton presiding.

 

          Rosalee was born on May 20, 1920 in Bristow, Oklahoma the daughter of Charley Chastain and Cora Lee (Dixon) Chastain.  She grew up in Ponca City granduading from the Ponca City High School. She met the love of her life Orman Ray King and the two were married in Yuma, Arizona on February 15, 1941. The couple made their home in Cushing where she was a member of the First Christian Church for 40 years.  After moving from Cushing, she lived in Blueridge, Texas for 10 years and volunteered at a small daycare making homemade snacks for the children every day.  In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, cross-stitching, and baking.

 

          Rosalee is survived by her son, David N. King and wife Brenda; daughter, Carolyn Morehouse and husband Gerald; brothers Robert McCullaugh, John Chastain, and Charles Chastain; sister, Irene Heard; grandchildren Angela Hartschuh and husband Danny, Jeffrey Morehouse and wife Nikki, and Kourtney DiGulio and husband John; greatgrandchildren Kelly Muniz and husband R.J., Mathew Hartschuh, Jacob Morehouse, and Isabella DiGulio, as well as many other relatives and friends.

 

          In addition to her parents, Rosalee was preceded in death by her husband, Oraman Ray King, parents Charlie and Cora Chastain, and sister Pauline Toland.
