You may have noticed the name and face seem so familiar.  Ice cream lovers may recognize her because of her job at Braums, but rodeo fans will remember Meghan Beede as a Cushing Community PRCA Rodeo Queen.  She earned the title in 2007 and now she wants to do it again.

“I enjoyed it so much – and the year went so fast,” Meghan said, “I just didn’t get to do everything I wanted to do.”

Meghan is the daughter of Nicole Moody and Danny Beede and attends Cushing High School.  She is a member of the CHS Varsity Dance Team, an honor roll student and takes advanced classes.

In her spare time, she enjoys riding her horse “Cricket” on trail rides or even just out in the pasture – often with her dear friend and mentor Leora Barrows.  Twice a year as a member of the OkieArkie trail riding group, she rides from Tahlequah, OK to Fort Smith, Arkansas.  “It’s pretty exciting!  It’s a very hilly and rocky ride,” Meghan said.

Like most other 15 year olds, Meghan enjoys hanging out with friends and texting.  “I also like spending time with my dog Montego,” Meghan said.

Although she hasn’t decided exactly what she wants to do when she grows up – lawyer, detective or a firefighter – are on her short list.  She has set her sight on one thing, “No matter what,” Meghan stated emphatically, “I want to have a HUGE ranch.”
