Robert “Bob” Sneed, lifelong Cushing resident, passed away on Monday morning, November 28, 2011 at his residence at the age of 55 years.
The son of William Sneed and Patsy Dooley Sneed, Bob was born on October 18, 1956 in Cushing and was raised and educated here, graduating from Cushing High School in 1974.
He was united in marriage to Loretta Anderson on April 5, 1974 in Cushing, and to this union three children, Steven, Brandy and Tyler, were born.
Bob was a member of the First Assembly of God Church; had been involved with the Royal Rangers and for many years had served as a Deacon. He loved serving the Lord. He will be remembered for asking “have you read your Bible today?”
Bob was an avid sports fan, especially softball, football, the Dallas Cowboys & the Oklahoma Sooners. He loved his family and spending time with his grandkids.
Survivors include his wife of over 37 years, Loretta, of the home; his parents, William and Patsy Sneed of Cushing; three children, Steven Sneed and his wife Beth, Brandy Sneed and Tyler Sneed, all of Cushing; four grandchildren, Nicholas, Payden, Hailey and Lakeley; one brother, Terry Sneed of Tulsa; father-in-law, John Anderson of Cushing; two brothers-in-law, Johnnie Anderson of Joplin and Jerry Pierce of Allen-Hurst, NJ; three sisters-in-law, Tina Foresee of Yukon, Genevia Bunney of Cushing and Janie Anderson of Cushing; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by one nephew, Randy Sneed.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. in the First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Robert Adams and Pastor Kevin Williams officiating. The family will meet at the church for a dinner at noon.
Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
Serving as casket bearers will be Harry Sneed, III, Don Jones, Marty Goforth, Bo Wright, Jason Floyd and Gene Carroll. Honorary casket bearers will be Tracy Nicholas, Charles Carroll and Mike Mann.
The family will greet friends on Wednesday evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the Floyd Family Center, east of the Funeral Home.
