Richard Dennis Gainer went to be with God on October 15, 2014. His presence blessed his family and others for 68 years. Memorial Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Cushing and will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 18, 2014 at the First Freewill Baptist Church, Cushing, OK.

Richard was born March 9, 1946 to the late Ira and Verna Mae (Allison) Gainer. Richard grew up in San Diego, California, but moved to Sam Houston, Texas and graduating from Sam Houston High School in 1965. Richard enjoyed traveling and watching any sport that involved Texas, from the NFL Texans’ to the Houston Astro’s Baseball. But most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching their many different activities, Alyssa’s horseback riding, Madison’s Gymnastics, and Miles and his 4-Wheeling. His grandchildren were the bright spot in his life.

Richard is survived by his two sons: Aaron Gainer of Cushing, Richard Gainer and wife Amy of Tulsa, one daughter: Kim Williams of Cushing, two brothers: David Gainer of Pine Hurst, TX, Joe Dudley and wife Lee Ann of Houston, TX, two sisters: Pat Carr and husband Mickey of San Leon, TX, Ruth Hentschel and husband Johnny of Point Blank, TX, two grandchildren: Madison Gainer, and Alyssa Gainer, 10 nieces and nephews, and a host of friends and family.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Gwen, and one grandson Miles Williams.
