(Stillwater, Okla.) — A retired Oklahoma State University professor was charged Monday with fondling himself and sexually battering a male student in the fourth floor west side restroom of the campus library in Stillwater on May 7.

An arrest warrant was issued Monday for 65-year-old Keith Owen Tribble of Stillwater, who has not yet appeared in court on the two-count felony charge, a court spokesman said Tuesday.

Tribble taught in the foreign languages department from Aug. 16, 1991, until April 8 of this year when he retired, OSU spokesman Gary Shutt said in an email Tuesday.

OSU Police Officer Michael Galbraith wrote in an affidavit filed in court records Monday that the alleged incident occurred at about 4 p.m. on May 7 to a male student who was studying in the Edmon Low Library on campus.

The student said that while he was in the fourth floor west side men’s restroom of the campus library, Tribble came in and stood next to him, the affidavit alleged.

The student said that “Tribble began to play with himself in a sexual manner,” the affidavit alleged.

The student said that Tribble “placed his hand on the left portion of his abdomen in an attempt to pull him away from the urinal,” the affidavit alleged.

The student said that he believed Tribble “was attempting to look at his genitals,” the affidavit alleged.

The student said he pushed Tribble’s hand away and told him, “no, don’t do that,” the affidavit alleged.

The student said that while he was beginning to wash his hands, Tribble walked over to him and reached out in an attempt to touch his genitals, the affidavit alleged.

The student said that he again pushed Tribble’s arm away and told him “no,” the affidavit alleged.

The student then left the restroom to report the incident, the affidavit alleged.

If convicted of indecent exposure and sexual battery, Tribble could be sentenced to 20 years in prison and fined $20,000, court records show.
