Reggie “Bob” Story, a Cushing resident, passed away at his home on Friday, February 20, 2009 at the age of 78 years.
The son of the late Reggie Story and Katherin (Lynch) Story, Bob was born on December 16, 1930 in Chickasha, OK. He was reared and educated in the Cushing area. In 1949, he was united in marriage to Betty Broyles and the couple made their home in Cushing. In 1968, Bob was united in marriage to Barbara Sparks. They made their home in Tyler, TX before moving back to the Payne County area.
For most of his life, Bob was focused on raising and training horses and poultry. During his employment, his business took place on several different ranches, mostly located in Oklahoma and Texas.
Survivors include his wife Barbara of the home and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whom he considered his own; two sons, Dr. Bob Story of El Paso, TX and Blaine Story of Sallisaw, OK; one daughter, Belinda Beams and her husband Kenny of Perkins, OK; one sister, Helen Tillie and her husband Vernon of Riverton, WY; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives, friends, and “business associates.”
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Story and Jim Story.
Services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, OK and will be held privately at a later date.
