TULSA, Okla. (March 25, 2014) – Oklahoma Red Dirt Music pioneers the Red Dirt Rangers, with the help from an all-star lineup of Oklahoma musicians, will record a promotional song and video this week at the Woody Guthrie Center in Tulsa to support the Red Dirt Relief Fund and raise awareness for healthcare options in Oklahoma.

The two-day recording of the song and video project for “Stand (Let Your Voice Be Heard)” begins today, Tuesday, March 25 at the Woody Guthrie Center. On Wednesday, March 26 the Red Dirt Rangers will be joined by 50 notable musicians including John FullbrightParker MillsapKevin WelchBrad Rice (Jason Boland & The Stragglers)Brandon JenkinsTom SkinnerJesse AycockRandy CrouchSteve Littleton (Cody Canada and The Departed), and others.

“As independent musicians, it has been difficult finding affordable healthcare options, and for the first time, we’ve been able to obtain health insurance for our families and ourselves. We think this song will raise awareness to fellow Oklahomans that there are options out there – even for those self-employed musicians just like us,” says Brad Piccolo of the Red Dirt Rangers.

“We are looking forward to this being another avenue to raise funds for the Red Dirt Relief Fund, a nonprofit that provides an emergency safety net for musicians and their families in the event of an unexpected tragedy. Having so many of our friends record this song with us for this important issue is monumental,” says John Cooper of the Red Dirt Rangers.

Revered producer, songwriter and guitarist Steve Ripley (Bob DylanThe Tractors) will produce the track while award-winning filmmaker Sterlin Harjo will create the video.

The song was written by Chuck Dunlap and the Red Dirt Rangers and will be broadcast as a public service announcement in audio and video form on radio and television stations statewide, and will be available digitally on iTunes in April, with all proceeds benefitting the Red Dirt Relief Fund.
